The Bride’s Box

In many countries there is a tradition of giving a Bride-to-Be a keepsake box for her wedding memories.

For many years I have been painting Bride’s Boxes for the young ladies joining our family (we have all boys).  The Boxes are a traditional Bentwood with a deep cover painted in acrylics.  The interior is padded and lined with white satin and personalized with the names of the bride and groom and the wedding date.  I try to make the design of the boxes fit the personalities of the brides.   I just finished Emily’s today so I thought I would share them with you.

Here are a few

    • Hi Norma,

I enjoyed researching the orchids and painting them as they are a little out of my usual floral repertoire. Ali is my contemporary gal so it was great fun.

      Glald you enjoyed seeing them,

      Linda

    • Hi Melissa,
I have enjoyed painting these boxes for my girls. I give them at the wedding shower with my shower invitation and an envelope full of photos of their husband-to-be as he was growing up. It is great fun!

      Thanks for your interest,

      Linda

    • Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your interest. Since I have given them all away I don’t have one to take a photo of the inside except for my own which I never wrote in, go figure! Come to think of it, I don’t even have a digital photo of my box. Guess I need to do something about that.
