Designs, structures, fabrics and details are carefully chosen for scale, drape and period accuracy.  Occasionally I will take artistic license and use a fabric or color that is not quite historically accurate but too lovely to ignore.  Seams are appropriately finished  for durability and many details such as hems and linings are hand sewn for a tailored finish.
